Impeachment: Not just for blowjobs!

This Poll shows that 52% of americans agree with this statement: "If President Bush wiretapped American citizens without the approval of a judge, do you agree or disagree that Congress should consider holding him accountable through impeachment."

During the height of the Whitewater-Monica scandal, only 36% agreed that Clinton should be impeached.

So Democrats... Why haven' you introduced articles of impeachment? There is more than enough evidence, hell Bush admitted to it in a speech. Are you afraid that the Republicans will shot it down?

Fucking let them. Then plaster it everywhere about how the republicans don't believe in the rule of law.

Polls like this show just how much of a failure the democrats really are at getting people to pay attention to them. Bush's approval rating is somewhere between 38 and 41% and over half the country thinks he should be impeached and yet... he's still in office. Clinton was over 60% WHILE BEING IMPEACHED. It also shows just how strong the republican control over the media has become.

What really worries me, is if Alito is confirmed.

Bush believes he is annointed by God to run the United States ( and he has admitted to it [How did he get elected? How did the Democrat PR machine fail to such a mindnumbly bad degree? If you tell normal people he has admitted to being annointed by God to run the US and you show them the quote, they get horrified. That should have been Gore's entire campaign. "Bush: Batshit Insane."] ) and he has shown to have lost all touches with reality, if he ever had one. Also Bush believes and acts that as president he can order and break any law he sees fit due to his commander in chief powers. Now Alito also agrees with this reading of the consitution.

Do you see where this is going?

I can see Bush trying to forgo the election in 2008 by using his commander in chief powers to declare it too 'unsafe' and then when the lawsuit reaches the supreme court... OOPS! Guess whose there to make sure it passes? We know that Scalia, Alito, and Thomas would vote for it. Roberts also just because Bush appointed him. That's 4. Only one other would be needed.

This is a far out idea, but guess what? As Democrats, Libertians, Progressives, whatever, we should no longer give Bush the benifet of the doubt. What I said all the way until Election Day 2004 was "There is no way they will elect him." And somehow though F.U.D. and lies they managed to make a war hero who charged a guy with a fucking rocket launcher seem weak on terror and the people voted for Bush. So is it so far off that Bush could convince enough people that it is Dangerious for the election to be held and that until the war on terror ends they should be suspended?
