Attorney-Gate: Act XV- Sinister Subpoenas

Once more in this act, Our Brave Attorney General is laying low, waiting for the storm to blow over. Unfortantly for him, it seems to be building up into a much larger storm.

Where to start?

First off, last night TPM found that out of all the documents that had been released, there was an 18 day gap. From November 15 to December 5th, only a few e-mails have been recovered. The ones found help bolster the White House's lies about why the attorneys were fired. Even Tony Snow agrees the missing days are disconcerting.

The major problem with that gap, besides being an obvious attempt to cover up something, is that would be the period when most of the relevant e-mails were sent out. I wonder just what has wondered down that memory hole.
And we know those e-mails still exist. Thanks to the some provisions in the PATRIOT act that require all e-mails to be stored for at least five years. Those e-mails are out there, congress just needs to subpoena them.

Speaking of subpoenas, the House Judiciary committee unanimously voted to subpoena Rove, Miers and a few others. Which is great, because Tony Snow agrees that the president's advisers should be forced to testify. Too bad he is refering to President Clinton.

And this is why the internet is great, you can very easily prove just how hypocritical the conservatives really are. Let's just hope they haven't taken the hypocritic oath.

In other news, Bob Barr, a former US Attorney and a current congressman, blasts the bush administration over Attorney-gate.

Oh, and in the potential bombshell news, Think Progress starts to piece together the real reason Carol Lam was fired. Something to do with the Vice President and Duke Cunningham.

As the saying goes, then the plots thickens.
