From the infamous quotes department.

There are many quotes associated with the computer industry that make you laugh after they are said. Like the Xerox CEO who said "No one will ever want a Personal Computer." Or Bill Gates saying, "640k is all a person will ever need."

Then. You have quotes like this:
Says Mark Anderson, author of the Strategic News Service newsletter: "In two years I think Second Life will be huge, probably as large as the entire gaming community is today."

That make you stop. Look. And then laugh because of how ridiculous the statement is. its up there with the Sony Quote that said "We want you to want to work overtime to get the PS3."

Blizzard, one part of just PC gaming, just sold 1.4 million units of 1 game in 1 day in just the united states.

Second Life, if you want to be as nice as possible, has 52,000 paying users.
World of Warcraft has 8 million paying users world-wide. 2.4ish million are in the United states. HALF of those bought the expansion the first day.

Second Life would have to get 110x subscribers in 2 years just to meet WoW's userbase. This isn't counting the over 100 million Playstation 2s that are roaming the world.

Best response to the quote:
Actually, how can this possibly come to be? The furry community isn't big enough.

ZING!
